The problem

My waste bin broke after only a few months of use. Rather than buy a new bin which would probably break again, I decided to design and print this repair part.

The part was designed in Fusion 360, with the design kept simple to allow ease of printing and fitting.

Build notes

The photographs below should explain most of it. I fitted this part eight years ago and it's still performing with no issues. The part is designed to be a push-fit onto the legs of the frame — my own print came out accurate enough to push-fit straight on, with no filing of the holes or glue required. Depending on the accuracy of your printer, filing the holes or adding a little glue may be needed.

The part was printed in PETG with supports, 4 perimeters, and 40% infill.
