Robert Kyle — Glasgow, Scotland

Robert Kyle began his career in R&D and product design engineering, working on electronics and control systems before moving into project engineering and management. Over the following three decades he led fire & gas detection systems, industrial automation, and major project delivery across the oil & gas and manufacturing sectors — from a multi-million-pound detection systems project in Qatar to managing engineering teams, leading change control on projects worth several millions of pounds, and developing new product lines — along the way picking up an MSc in Manufacturing, Management & Technology and a lifelong habit of doing things properly the first time.

Retired for the past decade, that same precision now goes into the workshop rather than the boardroom. Every project on this site is properly modelled in CAD, documented like it might actually need to be repeated, and built to be used — not just photographed and forgotten.
